Artist's Description
Midway through my work on this image I got the sense of a darkened nightclub setting, as though I was sitting at a table with friends enjoying a jazz combo on a small stage. I therefore sought to enhance that mood as I continued working. I chose colors that were mellow (mood indigo?) and emphasized the circles that reminded me of spotlights and the shadows that they can sometimes cast.
