The title is based on my impression of the waving of a checkered flag at the end of an auto race. Obviously, the black and white "checkerboard" here is distorted, but this is an abstract image after all.
This image is part of my Spy vs. Spy Series. The series name is an homage to the iconic Mad magazine feature. The images in this series share little with the Spy vs. Spy comic strip except for the stark contrast between black and white, with no grayscale in between.
